Two families. Zero bathroom lines.
Each bedroom has a private, attached full bathroom. Each couple or family gets their own ensuite to shower, get ready, and wind down at their own pace. After a beach day, head straight to your room and rinse off without waiting. Most 4 bedroom rentals here make somebody share a bathroom. This one doesn't.

The walk
Four blocks. Five minutes. Zero parking meters.
This is not "walkable" in the listing-speak sense. It is an actual flat, pleasant stroll through the neighborhood past the beach houses. Load up the wagon and go.
- Open the garage. The beach wagon is loaded with chairs, umbrellas, and boogie boards. Grab it and roll.
- Walk four short blocks past the beach houses to the Alabama Avenue access. Flat the whole way, wagon friendly, kid friendly.
- Set up on the quiet end of the beach. Same ocean as the Boardwalk strand, a fraction of the people, and no meter feeding. Summer beach parking in town is paid. You skipped it.
- Come home to your own bathroom. Ten people, four showers, nobody waits in a towel.

The quiet end of the island
South of the noise,
north of nowhere
The house sits on a residential street on the south end of Carolina Beach, the stretch old-timers still call Wilmington Beach. Five minutes north to the Boardwalk when you want rides and fireworks. Four minutes south to the Kure Beach pier when you want nothing at all. The Island Greenway bike path starts around the corner.
Pleasure Island, like a local
The beach town that never got fancy
Locals call the whole island Pleasure Island, and the whole point of it is that nobody is showing off. Flip flops in the grocery store, shag music drifting off a tiki bar patio, a donut line that counts as a social event. Twenty minutes north, Wrightsville Beach does polished and pricey. Pleasure Island does unhurried, and the families who come back every year would not trade it.

One item on the menu since 1939: a hot glazed donut made in front of you on the Boardwalk. The line down the boards is part of the experience.

Boardwalk + Thursday fireworks
A genuine old-school boardwalk with a 100-foot Ferris wheel, carnival rides, and fudge shops. All summer, Thursday night means free live music at 6:30 and fireworks over the ocean at 9.

Carolina Beach State Park
761 acres of maritime forest where Venus flytraps grow wild. They are native only to this little corner of the planet, and the half-mile Flytrap Trail is free.

Kure Beach Pier
One of the oldest fishing piers on the Atlantic coast, slinging rods since 1923. You are actually closer to this pier than to the Boardwalk. Walk it at sunrise with coffee.

Freeman Park
The wild north tip of the island, where you can drive a 4x4 right onto the sand (permit required), drop the tailgate, and fish all day looking across the inlet at Masonboro Island.

Practical stuff
- Check-in after 4 PM, checkout by 10 AM. Self check-in with a smart lock. You get unique codes for the front door and garage before arrival.
- Parking for 2 vehicles: one in the garage, one in the driveway. Unload at the driveway, pull in, done. Please leave street and neighbor parking alone.
- It's a 3-story townhouse with interior stairs. The ground floor suite is the only stair-free bedroom. Worth knowing for grandparents and toddler chasers.
- Reliable WiFi plus an Ethernet hookup at the desk. Roku TVs in every bedroom and the living room with live TV and the big streaming apps.
- Central air conditioning and heat, with ceiling fans in every bedroom and the living room. August naps are safe here.
- Baby gear on site: pack-n-play with sheets, high chair, safety gates, books and toys. Crib available on request. Room-darkening shades in every bedroom for nap time.
- Full-size washer and dryer in the unit, detergent provided. Bed linens and bath towels included for 10. Beach towels are BYO.
House rules
- Quiet hours 10 PM to 8 AM. It's a residential street with year-round neighbors. Great for sleeping kids, not for ragers.
- No parties or events. Overnight guests only, 10 max, and the primary renter must be 23 or older.
- No smoking or vaping anywhere on the property, inside or out.
- No pets, though service animals are always welcome.
- Beach gear etiquette: rinse the sand off the chairs and boards and roll everything back into the garage before checkout. The next family thanks you.
- One exterior security camera faces the entrance. There are no cameras inside the home, period.

Before you ask
Is the beach really walkable with kids and gear?
Yes, and we filmed it so you don't have to take our word for it. The Alabama Avenue beach access is four flat blocks from the door, about five minutes with the loaded wagon. Watch the drone video in The Walk section above. That stretch of sand is the quiet end of Carolina Beach, so you skip both the crowds and the paid parking.
How many cars can we bring?
Two: one in the garage and one in the driveway. Street parking isn't an option on our block, so if your group has three cars, carpool or coordinate. Once you're here you can walk to the beach and bike most of the island, so most groups never move the cars.
What beach stuff is provided? Do we need towels?
The garage is stocked with 10 beach chairs, 2 umbrellas, 3 boogie boards, a beach wagon, and kids' sand toys. Bed linens and bath towels are included. Beach towels are the one thing we ask you to bring, or grab a few in town.
How do the stairs work? Is there a bedroom without them?
It's a 3-story townhouse. The Garden Suite on the ground floor (full bed plus pull-out, private ensuite, mini fridge) requires no stairs at all. The living area and kitchen are on the 2nd floor, and the other three bedrooms are on the 2nd and 3rd floors. If anyone in your group avoids stairs, give them the Garden Suite.
Can I actually work from the house?
There's a dedicated desk with a proper chair, reliable WiFi, and an Ethernet hookup if you want a wired connection. Four separate bedrooms with doors that close means calls don't compete with cartoons. Shoulder season and winter monthly stays are welcome; inquire direct for monthly rates.
Can we host a wedding party or event here?
Events and parties aren't allowed, but wedding groups staying overnight love this house for the get-ready logistics: four private bathrooms means four people can shower at once before the ceremony. Quiet hours from 10 PM still apply when you get back from the reception.
